Sixth in our Issues in Law Making series of briefing papers reviewing elements of the legislative process. Post Legislative Scrutiny considers ways in which Parliament could review the laws that it passes to ensure that they have met their purpose, have not had unintended consequences and are clear and unambiguous in practice. The paper adds to calls for a more systematic programme of post-legislative scrutiny to be introduced.
The paper was produced in collaboration with the Regulatory Group at the international legal services organisation DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary.
