Hansard Society meetings
tackle reform of Parliament & public life
The Hansard Society has organised
a series of meetings on the subject of Democratic Renewal with representatives
of the three main political parties.
The three meetings will all take
place in Parliament between 12:30 - 1:30, with:
- Nick Clegg MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary and
Vice-Chair of the Hansard Society - April 27, 2006
- Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke, QC, MP, Chair of the Conservative Party's
Democracy Task Force - May 2, 2006
- Rt Hon the Lord Falconer of Thoroton QC - Secretary of State for
Constitutional Affairs and Lord Chancellor - May 16, 2006
Each speaker will clarify their
party's position on:
- The role of Parliament
- The relationship between Parliament & the
Executive
- The relationship between Parliament,
Government and the people outside.
The meetings are free and open to
