Apply for the Spring 2011 Hansard Scholars and Research Scholars Programmes!
If you’re interested in doing a unique political internship in London and studying British politics at the London School of Economics, you can now apply for the Spring 2011 Hansard Scholars Programme (undergraduates) and Hansard Research Scholars Programme (8th January - 2nd April, 2011)
The Hansard Scholars Programme offers an outstanding opportunity for undergraduates, postgraduates and young professionals to get invaluable experience at the heart of the British political system.
As you will no doubt be aware, the Hansard Scholars Programme offers international students unique and prestigious opportunities. Not only will you be undertaking an internship placement right at the heart of British politics, but your courses and research will provide you with invaluable knowledge and understanding of the world in which you are about to find yourself immersed.
Throughout the Programme, you will also hear up-to-the-minute presentations from eminent figures within the British political system – from former Cabinet Ministers to prominent political journalists and academics. In addition, political study visits to Edinburgh and Oxford have been planned to give you a wider view of political culture beyond Westminster and London.
The Spring term will be a particularly fascinating time in which to immerse yourself in British politics, as the coalition government's implementation of new policies and proposed structural changes to the political system will be well under way. Your internship, whether in the Westminster offices of an MP or research department of an NGO, will therefore allow you to experience this new and historic electoral aftermath from its epicentre.
Study abroad is without doubt an experience that will broaden your mind. We hope that the Hansard Scholars Programme will provide you with a challenging, rewarding, and memorable Autumn term, in addition to the unrivalled cultural experience of living and working in a foreign country.
