The constitutional implications of coalition government

Lords Constitution CommitteeHansard Society Director Ruth Fox gave evidence to the House of Lords Constitution Committee today on the implications of coalition government.

The Committee discussed investiture votes for an incoming prime minister, votes on a future coalition agreement, the management of government during the ‘purdah’ period and ministerial collective responsibility once government has been formed.

Dr Fox was giving evidence with Professor Robert Hazell and Barry Winetrobe of the Constitution Unit.
